- New pope Leo XIV is the second pope in the row hailing from the Italian diaspora (mother Italian American). Clearly the still powerful Italian block of cardinals decided that if an Italian born pope is not feasible anymore in 21thC globalized world at least they will get an ethnically Italian one.

- I don't think its a values problem in case of AI & student cheating- students have tried to cheat on their exams for centuries. AI simply suddenly made cheating on some types of course assignments hard to detect & very easy & cheap to do. If we go reverse that sudden shift it will solve that.
- In other news, key elements in US spy agencies are pissed off that Trump asked them to spy on Greenland, a place posing no threat to US, & prepare ground for warfare/meddling in it, that they are trying to get Trump to back off plan by quickly leaking it to media www.thetimes.com/us/news-toda...
- In other words Trump wants to use the tariffs to impose on Japan and other Asian countries "unequal treaties"- which given past western behavior towards Global South will really not go very well among local publics...
- I wonder if these planned film tariffs are a (rare case) of 4D plan to cripple Hollywood. US has huge surplus on cultural exports- so if implemented he'll be giving a huge opening for painful (to US) retaliation against US cultural exports. GOP, Trump however not fans of Hollywood so for them 😀?
