Well when the people who have the money and power make all the rules it kinda works out that way.

Right, it's essentially a system of organized bribes, but at least it's grounded in elections.
Trump level corruption is just out of this world and beyond anything seen previously in US politics... probably ever, but at the very least in an extremely long time.
The money fuels the corruption.
The citizenry of the civil society used to:
¹ have time 2 look into a politician's record
² be able 2 decipher the run around & sidetrack written in a legislative bill
³ have time 2 look 4 the disguised or hidden corruption
The society has been bogged down trying 2 stay alive & evil takes hold.
Why not finance ALL Political Campaigns via the State itself; set a MAXIMUM (at a reasonable level with NO ‘LOOPHOLES’)? This would mean ALL candidates start with a level playing field and vastly reduce fund fraud/vote buying & misappropriation of funds for other. Purposes as recently been found??
Which Democrats led by Nancy Pelosi were determined to fix... as long as Mitch Mcconnell was controlling the Senate.
Never any other time though.
Simply studying the aromatic history of this fair land should cure anyone of their present day pearl clutching. Which is not to say Donald isn’t wallowing at the top of our steaming historical manure heap.
