Your home for all those culinary delights, anomalies, and misfires that live on only in our memories...Still slowly but surely migrating over the nearly 1,000 foods I covered on Twitter, so if you don't see a favorite here yet, stay tuned!
- Star Wars Episode I Glitter Roll (1999-2000): A bright green,"galactic watermelon"-flavored fruit-by-the-foot type snack, covered in silverly sparkles/glitter. A promotional item for "The Phantom Menace", it was marketed as a "Jedi Lightsaber Fruit Roll"
- It's only a day late, I'm sure McDonald's will still honor this offer today!
- New term of endearment just dropped
- Yu-Gi-Oh! Cereal (2003-2003): A limited edition promotional item from General Mills, for the anime/manga/card game media franchise, consisting of honey-sweetened, puffed corn cereal pieces. The box identified them as "millennium medallion" shaped
- Ben & Jerry's If I Had 1,000,000 Flavours (2009-2020): A blend of chocolate & vanilla ice creams, loaded up with fudge-covered toffee pieces, white chocolate chunks, peanut butter cups, and fudge-covered almonds. A Canada-exclusive, released to honor Canadian rock band Barenaked Ladies
- This commercial for French's Mustard from 1987 is equal parts charming and also kinda unsettling, but what strikes me is the work that went into the absolutely delightful puppetry and practical effects for a *mustard commercial*!! Imagine that today??
- Burger King Ciabatta Breakfast Club (2010-circa 2012): Part of a blitz of new breakfast items, this sandwich featured thin-sliced ham, bacon, tomatoes, melted cheese, a plain egg omelet, and a 'smoky tomato sauce' on a whole grain ciabatta roll.
- Howdy, friend-os! Idling away my time in my office, no patients for the rest of the day...Anyone feel like a little Q&A to pass the time? Obviously food, but also music, TV, pro wrestling, sports...hit me!
- Beep (circa 1962-2010, 2012-2015): An amalgamated "fruit juice-based beverage" from Canada, that developed a cult following. It was made with a blend of orange, apple, apricot, prune, and pineapple juices, along with canola oil, corn starch, added orange pulp, & caramel coloring
