- ICYMI, I wrote a race report about the final Ironman 70.3 St. George this past Saturday (with about 150% more profanity than usual).
- Holy shit, that was the hardest fucking thing I’ve ever done.
- It’s race day in St. George and it’s gonna be a hot one. Follow me at rtrt.me/ulink/IRMA/I...
- Bike and gear checked in at Sand Hollow! It was 96°F on the pavement in St. George today; I’d put money on it being close to, if not over 100° tomorrow. I’m pretty sure this is going to be the hardest race I’ve ever done.
- Made it to St. George!
- I swear this has happened every time I've had a long run on my schedule this spring. Back to Watopia, I guess.
- Every day should be bike month.
- One more swim done ✅ The endless pool may end up being a blessing in disguise. The hours are more flexible, so I’ve gotten more swimming time than if I had stuck to the lap pool. I might keep it in my training rotation when the lap pool reopens. I’d love to know if I’m getting faster, though.
- One week to race day in St. George. Hopefully it goes better than last year, but the high is looking like it's going to be in the nineties next week, so it's gonna be a tough one.
- Update: It was not fun.
- This looks like a good, fun way to start my taper for St. George.
- I can't think of a more devastating way to describe anything than "Cybertruck-inspired."
- Only a few weeks until I can swim here again.
- Beautiful day for a run, after a few days of nothing but rain.
- I saw a pine marten on my run today. Some days I wish I could carry my telephoto lens when I work out (okay, most days).
- Today I did 15 sets of two minutes each in the Endless Pool with the pace set to 1:20min/100yd. Yeah, right.
- Well, shit. I just got this whole TriRig hydration setup two months ago and I think the new rules just made it illegal. I'm not sure there's anything I can do here to bring that top bottle within the 200 mm height limit.
- If I ever win the lottery I won't tell anyone but there will be signs (I'll have a garage with all of these). (This is a good guide, by the way.)
- Took the tri bike off the trainer and out for a spin for the first time this year and… absolutely blasted off. The bike feels great, the fit is dialed in, my fitness feels on point. Can’t wait for St. George in three weeks.
- I don’t know where I’ll be a month from now, much less a year from now, but fuck it, I’m gonna sign up for Ironman 70.3 Ruidoso. I need something to look forward to in my life.
- Nooooooooooooooooooo
- Ooh, new race! The symbol next to the "70.3" makes me think New Mexico, but no idea where. If it's Santa Fe, might be close enough to be within driving distance… tempting…
- Absolutely brutal week of training last week. I've ever been happier to take a rest day today 😮💨
- Beautiful day for a bike ride around Grand Teton. Love having Teton Park Road to myself, not a car in sight.
- Got the road bike ready for its first outdoor ride of the year! Definitely getting better at bike maintenance—only made one giant mess of tire sealant this time 🎉

- Watching the Paris-Roubaix Femmes avec Zwift… avec Zwift. So glad cycling season is here.
- Swim crisis averted. Remembered that the fancy, expensive gym in town had an Endless Pool, so I paid for a month of membership. Not my favorite way of swimming, but it’ll get me through St. George.
- One of those days when all I wanted to do was crawl into bed instead of training but I trained anyway.

- Blergh. Exactly one month to race day and I’ve only managed to do one swim in weeks.
- First outside run of the year!

- I don’t understand why Garmin is so bad at sleep tracking. I’ve been awake since 2:00 AM.
- For $70 a year, this is the kind of cutting-edge insights you can expect from Garmin. Incredible stuff. (Via reddit: www.reddit.com/r/Garmin/com...)
- Absurd. My watch literally can’t tell when I’m awake or asleep but they want me to pay seventy bucks a year for some LLM slop.
- This looks like a blast. I really wish there was more access to indoor triathlons (even esports-style on Zwift, etc.) (Also Beaugrand is incredible. What a talent.)
- Huh, 2,526th out of 61,428 is not as bad as I expected. Enjoyed this enough that if I ever have to quit triathlons I might just focus on Zwift racing.
- Done with the Zwift Games, finished 17th out of 45 on Stage 5. Pretty brutal stage, but managed a solid tempo effort (about .85 IF)
