- Prepping for my next short has been so much work, especially getting the kickstarter ready. It never stops being scary. I’m looking forward to a sense of relief when I’m able to actually make the film itself. Right now the more creative parts of pre production are keeping me sane.

- Even though I wrote the screenplay for the short, I love how each of us interpreted how different scenes played out during storyboarding sessions. It really led to some amazing generative moments that you just don’t get working on your own.
- Filmmaking is really hard, and those generative moments are always amazing when they happen. I really live for those “holy crap I didn’t see it that way” moments.
- I think one thing making the process for The Beasts We Carry more fun than my last film is that I have a lot more of my colleagues in the industry actually helping me make the film. A big one is my friend, DP Mike Magilnick, and storyboard artist Brett Haas.
