Possibly a majority of our species do not want to do any thinking ever; past generations would get someone else to do their thinking, copy/steal others' writing, cheat when possible. They want easy comforts and minimal emotional or moral conflict getting those comforts. Which could be the end of us.
P.S. I'm not making a moral judgment (in this case) re: cheating; it's possible we are built this way for the most part and are following nature's programming to conserve energy and effort as a survival tool. The problem is that's dangerous re: tech + our ignorance when (not if) cheats like AI fail.
