- Today I unveiled my anti-corruption plan to hold NYC government accountable + protect your tax dollars ✅ “Bad Actor” list ✅ Full subcontractor transparency ✅ Tougher penalties for labor violations ✅ Aggressive audits + real oversight Watch the vid + read the plan ⬇️ justinbrannan.com/anticorruption
- Democracy doesn't collapse overnight. It erodes. Gradually. The slow road to authoritarianism starts with demagogues sowing distrust in the institutions and ideals we've long held dear. Like mold, all it needs is protection from direct sunlight to thrive. We can't be bystanders.
- To cut federal housing assistance in the midst of a national housing crisis is despicable. NYC will be hit particularly hard by Trump’s budget, which would gut NYCHA and leave working people holding the bag. Democrats in DC need to ensure this “plan” never sees the light of day.
- We've got a big end of month fundraising deadline tonight at midnight! Can you chip in $50 to help us get our message out all across the five boroughs? 🙏🏽 bit.ly/Brannan4NYC
- A report from @nyccomptroller.bsky.social says NYC is sitting on $1B in unpaid invoices! Our non-profit orgs are the unsung heroes of this city and yet most struggle to stay afloat as they wait to get paid for work they already did. Enough is enough. NYC needs to pay their damn bills on time.
- Politicians love to say "small businesses are the backbone of the economy" but talk is cheap. So today I released a plan to expand access to capital, cut red tape & deliver real support so our small businesses can thrive even in the face of Trump's chaos. justinbrannan.com/smallbusiness
- Small businesses are already fighting to survive. Now Trump’s tariff chaos could make everything worse. My plan will expand access to capital, cut red tape, and deliver real support so NYC’s small businesses can thrive. We can't leave them hanging. www.brooklynpaper.com/brannan-unve...
- I was raised by an educator and I'm married to one! so I am incredibly proud to earn the support of our NYC school principals, assistant principals, supervisors, administrators, early childhood directors, assistant directors and retirees! Thank you CSA!!
- Our coalition keeps growing stronger. Grateful to earn the support of State Senator Rivera! Gustavo has spent his career boldly fighting for the hardworking people of the Bronx – relentlessly, intelligently, and with a ton of heart. Proud to have him on Team JB! 57 days to go!
- We have all worked very hard together to bring an end gun violence in Coney Island and we were making progress. We will not go back now. Sending prayers to the victim, his family & friends and anyone who witnessed this.
- Tariffs are a regressive tax. This burden will fall heavily and disproportionately on the poor.
- If it weren't already clear City Hall will do just about anything BUT give EMS workers the raise & pay parity they deserve...
- “ Investing in child care infrastructure and facilities in New York City is a pretty good bet and serves a very well-defined market need... it's a pretty safe and responsible investment.”
- Child care costs are driving families out of NYC. I’m not OK with that. My universal child care plan leverages our pension power to build child care centers across the city – more seats, better paying jobs, and stable long-term returns for our pensions. It’s a win-win. Watch👇🏼
- My universal child care plan isn't built on feel-good rhetoric or empty promises. It's a real, actionable plan that leverages the full power of the comptroller’s office to address our city's child care crisis with strategic audits, smart investments & a commitment to families.
- This isn’t a plan that starts and stops with feel-good rhetoric and empty promises. It's a plan that leverages the full power of the comptroller’s office to address our city's child care crisis with strategic audits, smart investments, and a commitment to families.
- Elon Musk is cutting essential services that veterans, seniors & families depend on. He has turned the federal government into his personal piggy bank. He shouldn't be anywhere near our pensions. I'm running for NYC Comptroller, and I'm going to DIVEST pension funds from Tesla.
- The bond between New York City and Puerto Rico is unbreakable. It's time we reflect that in our investments. Clean energy for the island means a stronger, fairer future for all.
- Incredibly grateful to earn the support of these outer borough titans of public service. Together, we will keep pushing for accountability, equity, and transparency to build a city where every New Yorker has a fair shot no matter how far they may live from City Hall.
- NYC budget update: Mayor will release FY26 executive budget on Thurs, May 1. Final round of @council.nyc.gov oversight hearings begin Mon, May 12. Final agreement must be reached before July 1, the beginning of the new fiscal year. See you then!
- Tesla earnings tanked because consumers are done with Elon Musk playing Trump’s sidekick and backing cuts to seniors and working families. It's not just against NYC values. Tesla is now a bad investment. We need to divest our city pensions from Tesla.
- The child care crisis is at the heart of our city's affordability crisis. While good to hear City Hall is baselining some of the early childhood education $$, we still need funding for many other crucial priorities championed by the @council.nyc.gov. Exec hearings start next month!
- Buona Pasqua a tutti! Wishing all who celebrate a happy Easter Sunday surrounded by friends, family, and the gifts of hope and renewal.

- Yesterday, the @council.nyc.gov held a joint oversight hearing on preparing NYC for a cruel wave of federal funding cuts. City Hall pulled a last minute stunt and didn't show up to testify so that became the story. New Yorkers would still very much like to hear their contingency plan!

- I'm so grateful to have @jabaribrisport.bsky.social on board Team JB. Our coalition is built to win big for working people!
- Another island-wide blackout in Puerto Rico thanks to LUMA Energy who says it could take up to 72 hours to restore power. New York City has a role to play here and a responsibility to do so. When family’s hurting, you show up. My statement ⬇️

- Today, we held a joint oversight hearing on preparing NYC for a cruel wave of federal funding cuts. City Hall couldn't even be bothered to show up and testify! No worries. The @council.nyc.gov outlined a plan to Trump Proof our city budget because we show up and do our jobs here.

- Doom loop. City guts funding to agencies crying austerity. People in need rely on non-profits even more. Trump federal cuts impact non-profits. City agencies already gutted. Nowhere for people in need to turn.
- Truly gut-wrenching hearing. Dozens of non-profit organizations serving our city's most vulnerable testify how cruel federal cuts will completely obliterate our social safety net. Cuts aren't just numbers on a page. These are our neighbors in need.
- Today, the @council.nyc.gov Committees on Finance & Gov Ops are holding a critical joint hearing on what Trump's wild budget cuts will mean for our fiscal future. This is who City Hall sent to testify to tell us about their contingency plan. They do not care about New Yorkers.
- I'm proud to have spearheaded the @council.nyc.gov legislation that makes office > residential conversions possible. Now, we must incentivize more office > affordable housing conversions.

- The mighty @nynurses.bsky.social risked their own lives caring for New Yorkers during our city's darkest days. I am so incredibly proud to earn the support of these 42,000 frontline nurses and healthcare professionals in my race to be the next NYC Comptroller. We will win together.💪🏼
- As a former professional musician with years of my music on various streaming services, I'm excited to see @shahanafrombk.bsky.social’s Resolution calling on Congress to pass the Living Wage for Musicians Act being heard in the @council.nyc.gov tomorrow! 🤘🏼🤘🏼
- Tesla profit in 2024 = $2.3 BILLION. Tesla paid taxes in 2024 = $ ZERO. Elon Musk is gambling with NYC pension dollars. I'm running for NYC Comptroller, and I'm going to divest from Tesla or anything related to Elon Musk.
