- Paging @ajosephoconnell.bsky.social; isn't the Library of Congress not covered by the FVRA? It only covers officers of an "Executive Agency," which the Library of Congress is not. Is this another one of Trump's naked assertions of Constitutional authority to appoint Actings at any gov agency?
- Indeed: Politico reports that the staff of the Library of Congress is NOT accepting Blanche as their current leader. Which again makes sense; Trump doesn't appear to have any statutory authority to make this appointment, suggesting he's making a constitutional argument alone, which is shaky.
- I thought Trump would destroy the Library of Congress during his first term. One of the MAGAts even showed up with a truckload of bombs parked in front of it after Biden was elected. I hope the staff is successful in resisting the fascists because Trump will sell or burn whatever's inside it.
