honestly like, what I took from any of this is that a majority of the people involved have not engaged in good faith and it's made worse with how little people are willing to actually engage with what they're arguing for/against and it just ends up with a lot of hurt people
frankly everything is much too emotionally charged atm and it's ended up with some of the least productive discussions on so called "artificial-intelligence" and it's impacts on labor within the industries in question
I genuinely wish the two modes of any social media communication wasn't oscillating between targeted harassment and willful misinterpretation based on a bad game of telephone
To elaborate further the purpose of that initial post was to point out the hypocrisy of how this site tends to posture itself as a more "kinder" and less toxic version of twitter yet, when given the opportunity, engages in the EXACT same behaviors.

I lowkey miss reading books because my dad was one of the few people that nurtured my love for reading.
I liked reading books periodically in the library without checking it out, going back and forth to barnes and nobles to finish something I was interested in. It felt a lot more fuffilling being able to engage something on my own terms tbh.
