- Have been prescribed sleeping tablets to deal with perimenopause-induced insomnia. Do they help me sleep? Yes. Am I capable of normal human function and thought the next day? Absolutely not. Is this a problem? Well, I have 90 minutes before I have to walk the the dog and start the day job to write,May 14, 2025 05:25
- and my brain doesn't work for 75 of those 90 minutes, so yes. It's a huge problem. Can't I just write in the evenings? No, because that's when I do my third job - editing and mentoring. Maybe I'll adjust? Maybe, but I can't take the tablets for more than 3 nights in a row or I'll get addicted,
- so I'm constantly having to take a break (hello, insomnia!) and then start the pills again. No building up tolerance or resistance or routine. Just insomnia; sleep, but inhuman shambling the following day; insomnia again. Never even wanted a stupid uterus in the first place. #perimenopause
