  • The people who speak for The People mostly just talk to each other. That's how they become so disconnected from the material reality of so many people's lives. They have the privilege to be able to ignore anything that contradicts their preferred narrative.

    • AI models don't 'hallucinate' They get facts wrong because they are intentionally designed to strip the context of material reality in pursuit of 'pure' information. They only work in a theoretical world of generalized platonic forms. And that isn't the world we actually live in.

    The rational actor 'knows' they've ascended and escaped all those icky emotions, so if they do have an emotional response to something they assume it must have been deliberately intelligently designed by the hated Other in order to provoke that specific response.

      So much this. Especially when they also assume that the only possible reason why the thing they're annoyed about happened was because someone was deliberately trying to annoy them. Think a lot of it comes back to the obsession with there being one and only one right way for everything.
