They are not the only ones. Many "mainline" churches are not extreme like the evangelicals and non-denominational churches. And the Catholic churches lost their funding for refugee services from Trump.
United Methodist recently had a shake up and split over allowing members of the lbgqt community to be ordained and that kind of stuff... if they're UMC as opposed to just plain methodist now, they're pretty progressive.

I'm agnostic but was baptized UMC and like what I hear from their services... decolonizing the church, serving the trans community around them. They're very conscious of their moral objective at this time
