The post wasn't exactly in the Xmas spirit, but are we seriously saying that if you aren't put up in a hotel and don't get your sheets laundered daily then you're not being treated like a human being? The social contract is broken when illegal immigrants get better support than Americans in need.

Do homeless/poor NYers get the same treatment?
I understand people's compassion and desire for comfort for all humanity, but those without skin in the game (i.e. those not laying NYC taxes, not being harassed on the subway, not being pushed out of housing) should feel some, if not equal, compassion for those who do.
Agree. We owe greater obligations to members of our own society or community than to others.
