- An artificial teammate trained to recognize and flag rhetorical fallacies could enhance the quality of our decision-making. And if It also knew which of us was most likely to use which fallacies, it could be better at this than any human ever could be.
- Changes in performance appraisal can sometimes foretell layoffs. In many organizations, performance appraisal is timed to coincide with the anniversary of the employee's hiring. In such an organization, a change of schedule to synchronize all appraisals might be a signal that layoffs are imminent.
- New issue of my newsletter out today: "Subject Matter Bullying": Most workplace bullying tactics have analogs in the schoolyard—isolation, physical attacks, name-calling, and extortion are common examples. Subject matter bullying might be an exception. It requires expertise in a knowledge domain.
