lady Jane had her first of three heartworm injections today ❤️🩹
She’s a nervous gal in the car so Foscoe came along for moral support this morning! It’s injected deep into muscle in her back, and it kills adult heartworms that live in dog’s hearts.

May 14, 2025 03:27She’s tender at the injection site & could be for a couple days. As the heartworms die they break apart, and there’s the risk of an embolism if her heart rate increases. So she’s on a strict activity limit / crate rest for the next two months.
She’s pretty woozy but doesn’t seem to feel too bad!
