- Reposted by Amalia Alvarez-BenjumeaThanks to everybody who chimed in! I arrived at the conclusion that (1) there's a lot of interesting stuff about interactions and (2) the figure I was looking for does not exist. So, I made it myself! Here's a simple illustration of how to control for confounding in interactions:>
- Does anybody have a good visualization to explain how interactions can be confounded, and why interactions require interaction controls? @urisohn.bsky.social maybe? (Asking because I have an idea, but want to check out what exists already before investing the effort)
- Very happy to see this out!
- I am very excited to share a new working paper coauthored with @amaliaab.bsky.social. Using a field experiment, we find that, in the real world, it is more costly to express far-right preferences than other political preferences. osf.io/preprints/os... 1/8
- Nos vemos en la UAM esta tarde!

- Reposted by Amalia Alvarez-BenjumeaI just signed this and I hope many of my colleagues will too. As academics we need to stand up against the erosion of basic human rights of trans people and other sexual minorities. We need to make sure that our trans students and colleagues know that they are not alone in this.

Reproducibility: • depends heavily on the transparency of materials • high (~95%) for same sign/sig, but low (btw. 48-77% depending on transparency) when requiring within 0.1 effects

- This is important work on how the mainstream right’s adoption of radical right rhetoric legitimizes the extreme right’s position and erodes liberal democratic norms.
- Very happy that our paper (w/ @dziblatt.bsky.social & E Dinas) has been accepted @bjpols.bsky.social . We've seen the center right increasingly adopt far-right rhetoric. Our experiment in 🇩🇪 finds that this erodes anti-prejudice norms *more* than when the far-right employs similar rhetoric. 1/3
