- Reposted by Dan CarlinHello friends! Local bookstore is raising money for their Books To Prisoners program, an incredibly worthy cause. They have a fund matching grant that runs through midnight tonight so every dollar raised is doubled. Chip in if you're willing and able! roomofonesown.com/donation
- It's a favorite.
- Reposted by Dan CarlinThe Norton Library edition of my translation of the Iliad, with stylish red cover, is now available. It has complete text, maps, notes, introduction and translator's note, and it's yours for under $10 (as are many other tempting Norton Library volumes). wwnorton.com/books/978132...
- Well, the protest was empowering. It's a reminder that the tactics being used by the current administration are of the "divide and conquer" type. The counterbalance to that might be people (neighbors!) physically coming together in real time.
- While the big music outlets now label this as "protopunk", this is what punk looked like originally. Forget the blue mohawk caricatures. Look at Jerry Nolan's boots. These guys would interact with the Sex Pistols in catastrophic ways.
- Reposted by Dan CarlinThis from @jdcivicscience.bsky.social nails why small town, red America is not turning on Trump.
- I'll be out at a protest near me tomorrow protesting against U.S. executive overreach specifically and kings in general. Hope you will be too. Stay Safe!

- Thanks for being a part of the evening! And a thousand thanks to all of you who came out tonight. What a great crowd. Seattle...you're fantastic. Hope you all had a good time. (And thanks to Seattle's own John Roderick for hosting things!).
- Hey All, arrived in Seattle for tomorrow's event that I'm doing at the Moore Theater. Looking forward to seeing a bunch of you there!
- This one really hit me this morning. Funny what does (or doesn't) have that effect. He was one of those drummers that even a non-musician idiot like myself could recognize the second we heard him play on a song. Arguably the greatest drummer of his genre (if one pretends he HAD a genre). Damn.
- One week away from going onstage in Seattle with the always interesting musician and podcaster John Roderick! He'll infuse a Pacific Northwest sensibility to things I'm sure. At the Moore Theater, April 11th. Tickets are dwindling! www.stgpresents.org/events/dan-c...
- No. Certain shows just seem wrong to profit from. This is one of those. We didn't do any advertising (which we don't do much of anyway) we didn't even do a bumper at the end promoting anything we do. It was that sort of show…
- Reminder: If you find yourself in the Seattle area on April 11 looking for something to do...I'll be doing a one-off there. Please join me! www.ticketmaster.com/event/0F0062...

- Oh, we ARE alienating a bunch of people. Make no mistake about that!😂 But we aren't stupid. We realized that would happen. I'm FINE with that, as long as what we do is HELPFUL in some way. If not, it's an opportunity cost we might better spend elsewhere.
- Thanks. Everyone seems mad at me again (as usual...from both sides). We did a "soft release" on this CS show (first in 3 years)so that those who never unsubscribed from the feed and REALLY wanted this got first crack at it. They got that. So here's the link: dts.podtrac.com/redirect.mp3...

- Yes! and I've also thought about maybe interviewing a guest or having a conversation with somebody as a way to get around this problem. I think listeners would be fine with that but only in addition to a "normal" CS show coming out... not instead of one.
- I've done 12 attempts so far that I've FINISHED (before the laryngitis cleared up,several shows croaked out in mid-show). I've never done retakes like that on CS. I've talked about how we were leading up to something like this since 1993. It's very different to do the "Now we are here" version.
