- I can't wait until social science methods gives up on "codes" and admits that we all actually only work with misshapen bulging collections of code-themes. Also the "code" and "theme" distinction is a nightmare for anyone even mildly neurodiverse.
- Part of me is really salty that the Braun and Clarke TA paper is so famous - you can't claim the act of categorisation as 'your' method. On the other hand, lots of colleagues have found having instructions way more helpful and reassuring than the Law's 'after method' type stuff
- ...suppose you need to understand where the idea of 'rigour' in quali research comes from to then challenge it. Meanwhile, major STS journals treat methods as a footnote 🤷🏼♂️
