I’m so glad the Menendez brothers have a chance at freedom. They were victims of horrific abuse both sexual and psychological. They were never threats to society.
It pains me to see people making jokes at their expense in 2025. Believing victims means believing men who are victims too.

They aren’t getting all the support from the public. They were terrified of their dad. Going to the police at that time wouldn’t have done anything. He was a powerful wealthy man. All the things you are saying— would you say them about women? They should have left? Gone to police?

And I’m a woman. I know how women are treated. It doesn’t mean men are not also let down by our patriarchal society. you saying as men they should have just left when victims experts have explained why they behaved as they did is exactly what the knee jerk response is
You say they should have left after a lifetime of abuse bc they are men. At 18 and 21, barely. When abuse was ignored, evidence left out. They were treated as a punchline, not victims for 35 years. Sounds sexist to me. Giving them parole after 35 years in jail doesn’t erase anyone else’s plight.

But I do think because they are men, they are expected to fight back. There is also toxic masculinity at play that does no favors for men who are abused. These things can all be true at once
I agree but it doesn’t mean they didn’t face horrible abuse and a power struggle where they saw no way out. The evidence is there. The dad was a mobster and the mom didn’t help.

It’s not untrue. Women have killed their abusive partners and people have understood that. But not barely men who were abused since childhood
Boo these losers off the ice please. And then boo them back on after the intermission.

These players weren't even alive for the first 20-40 years of this run; booing them for your frustration doesn't make much sense, does it?
They were downright terrible. You want us to cheer? 0 shots from their captain in 3 games? Blind pass giveaways? I’ll cheer for Woll.
Yes, yes it does. It would be much worse if say they were playing soccer in South America. They are lucky tickets are still bought especially at the ludicrous prices they are sold for. They are lucky to have fans at all.

Lots of victims kill their abusers. If these were women more people would accept that they felt there was no choice.

They were abused from the age of 5/6 until adulthood by the father while the mom was complicit and watched it happen. Not every abuse victim behaves the same way. And many experts would disagree with you. I suggest you look into what Roy Rosello has said about Jose
