- R.I.P. to my darling friend. We first met in the 1970s and last saw each other a few weeks ago. Love and deepest condolences to John Benton, his devoted son; his wife Sallie, who died in 2023, and Marisa Forzano, the mainstay of his professional life for decades. www.nytimes.com/2025/05/13/m...
- Janet, I'm so sorry for your loss. I remember you kindly recommending BAD COMPANY to me a few years ago. ♥️

- I was going to wait until later in the week to announce this but there was something sort of darkly poetic about doing it on the same day the house is marking up the Medicaid cuts of their draconian budget bill.

- Whew, I'm so glad! ♥️
- Oh, no! I'm sorry, Christa. Q1: How's Lupe?
- #RIP to the brilliant, wry writer & actor's director Robert Benton. I was that weird kid who made her friends go see NOBODY'S FOOL in middle school because I loved Paul Newman, but as an adult, my favorite Benton film is THE LATE SHOW. If you're a '70s SoCal noir or mystery fan, this is your movie.
- This was fun!
- Tonight at 5 pm PDT, I'm moderating a @poisonedpenbooks.bsky.social chat with these two terrific Toronto authors discussing their new books: THE MAID'S SECRET by Nita Prose and THE RETIREMENT PLAN by Sue Hincenbergs. Join us & watch on our FB or YT channels.
- Just revisited NIGHT FALLS ON MANHATTAN for a pod. If I knew how to make supercuts, I'd make a supercut of Andy Garcia yelling shit with authority in '80s & '90s movies. This movie features some peak Garcia freakouts. In other words, see it.

- Summer plans!
- This post made me want to rewatch Internal Affairs.
- Lol, yes, I saw a scene in this movie & immediately wanted to queue up him with the desk chair in that one!
