I hadn't heard of this, but I do know that Britain built a whole area of balloon tanks, and aircraft, knowing that the germans would think it was real when they did recon in the area, the idea was to convince the Germans, they were going to invade a different area than Normandy. It worked.
If it wasn’t for the code breakers we would have possibly lost that war.
True! But that can be said for many groups during the war, everyone pulled together to defeat the enemy! The agents who hid among the enemy, who went behind lines to damage infrastructure, those who came up with excellent double cross schemes!
May 7, 2025 12:44I would argue that without breaking the enigma codes we would have probably lost although Hitler did make the mistake of pushing into Russia before he had finished us.
