- This policy is based on not meeting many NHS Chief Execs. I've met many, and I can't see them forcing through organisational cost savings purely to get a personal bonus. NHS Chief Execs are already paid well, and they know it. They're also not generally keen on their staff really disliking them

- Reposted by DazThe eye-catching thing which would resonate is not some big shiny new idea, it's getting the basics right so that people can access the care they need when they need it. Focus on, and investment in, primary care will go a long way to improve the experience for millions of voters.
- Ministers push to improve draft marketing plan for NHS in England: “Ministers have asked for more work to be done on the government’s draft 10-year plan for the NHS in England, amid claims it lacks policies exciting enough to resonate with the British public” on.ft.com/4m9JHil

- This also stops one of the key benefits of migration. People who have certainty are willing to invest in our country. Free movement was great for people who were willing to build companies here because they had certainty. People locked into visa conditions won’t do that and we’ll be poorer for it
- This won't have much impact on net migration, but will hinder integration, promote "churn", and increase hardship. Mean-spirited, unnecessary, and unpopular. www.ft.com/content/f844...
- One of the biggest challenges around the care sector is that the skills needed don't fit the more capitalist model we like to apply to sectors /1

- Birmingham really needs to learn from this. I wonder how it integrates with existing tram infrastructure
- Coventry is doing something that many thought impossible: building a tram line in Britain quickly and cheaply. Read David Milner of @createstreets.bsky.social on how they've done it and what we can learn from it. capx.co/coventrys-tr...

- Reposted by DazHere's Gary Stevenson calling for a return to the 1970s, when the top rate of tax was 98%. But did the rich ever pay it? We spoke to 1970s tax dodgers and ex-HMRC staff & and crunched the data. A 🧵, but here's a spoiler: the rich pay more tax *now*.
- @warringtonruncorn.com Do you have any idea what time you're on, on Saturday? For reasons I can only get out of the house for a really limited amount of time, and am hoping that coincides with you

- Reposted by DazThis week, boys and girls, we are going to find out all about why tariffs are not normally applied to service industries.
- I read @dorianlynskey.bsky.social thing about gig tickets earlier and was firmly in the "just go to local gigs, they only cost £20" I gave up enormodome gigs ages ago But then found a bootleg video of Lady Gaga in Brazil and I'd pay £500 for that

- The article doesn't provide any evidence for the 70% figure. It says that they're stopping new contracts. I'm very sceptical of the power of AI but this looks like one case where, if it works, it's a good use of it. The objection to AI can't be that we must always do things the way we have before
