- The only thing I know about Pete Rose is that I saw him as a guest on a sports show for like five minutes and since then I feel like the people fighting for him to go into the Hall of Fame are no different from the people defending Trump. Just an objectively stupid person to support.

- I just looked him up, and apparently he is in one of the bands. So - a more reasonable comment would have been "It seems like fans of the __________ band don't care that Jesse Lacey groomed and sexually coerced two minors..." Most humans don't care because we had never heard of the guy.

- Pete Rose was a horrible human being on so many levels but it seems people wanna dismiss all that and say focus on just his baseball numbers. Ok fine. He wasn’t great, folks. Certainly not HOF worthy numbers when you dig into them.

View full threadThose guys all did other things that made them noteworthy. And they did it in fewer games, with fewer ab. Pete played more games than anyone and finished a season top 10 in WAR a total of 5 out of 24 seasons.
- Face it - the only reason that anyone is discussing whether or not Pete should be in the HOF is because he is (without a doubt) one of the greatest players of all time. You can desperately try all you want to come up with excuses why this top-tier player just wasn't "good enough" for you.
- "Pete played more games than anyone" That makes him HOF worthy in and of itself. WAR = worthless, made up statistic Pete Rose = Hall of Famer
- It took him over 4200 hits to amass a lifetime batting average of .303. 17 time winner of a popularity contest—whatevs. And lots of good players won ROY or an MVP. Doesn’t mean they belong in the HOF.
- Mickey Mantle, Al Kaline, Willie Mays, Frank Robinson, Lou Brock, Rickey Henderson, and 120 other HOFers have a lower batting average than Rose.
