- Can someone please tell me why the radishes I'm growing, a very popular variety, are called 'French breakfast' because delicious as they are I can't believe the French eat them with their pain au chocolat?
- Radishes and pak choy enjoying the sun in the new raised bed.

- Rat-a-touille is now digging up my raised bed 👿
- This is a real scandal concerning immigration. How we abandoned the Afghans who fought on our side, perhaps because they witnessed UK atrocities. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cp3q5…
- So bored with hearing immigrants are at the heart of everything wrong with this country, not a decade and a half of rubbish government and an idiotic referendum.
- Thought I'd try the Merlin app to see who's doing all the tweeting in the garden
- May 2024. Wondering at the shocking story of the Devil of Mergellina #Naples
- So we have a blackbird singing rat-a-touille on an endless loop.
- Nest building time for robins. During lockdown I used to have hair cuts in the garden. The birds love hair clippings for their nests.
- I'd love to see the view from the top. metro.co.uk/2025/05/09/f...
- Busy day. That's miles not km btw even if the watch face doesn't know.
- Reading the news does not diminish my profound wish to live on top of a hill in the middle of nowhere any more than the fact I already do live on top of a hill in the middle of nowhere.
- Not seen this in years. Field after blue field of flax. Whether for linseed or line suits....dunno.
- The pheasant way to start the day. He's done this very loud squawk four times at least since 550.
- Some serious coppicing going on round the corner. May look savage but this is good for both wood and wildlife. Checking trunk rings I'd say this was last coppiced 50 years ago which is far too long.
- May 2015. Meeting the street dwarves in #Wroclaw Poland
- May 2018. Inside the amazing Bevilacqua weaving studio on the Grand Canal #Venice researching the book that would become The Garden of Angels
- We do things proper in the country

- Seriously mate. If you want to get ahead in the scam business you need a better name than Walter Trock.
- This is like when your daughter brings home a new potential boyfriend and you invite him in and listen to him and think... What a jerk. And with luck she thinks that too.
- May 2007. Ostia Antica #Rome writing Nic Costa
- Way to build a working relationship I must say. Carney has the intellect to wipe the floor with him.

- Among today's blessings to be counted... the fact I will never have to go to the Met Gala.
- Morning check of estate has revealed no new headless eviscerated baby bunny corpses. Nice to have a positive start to the day.
- Same here. I don't know what I'd use it for frankly.
