But Starmer is a top lawyer. Words are HIS tools, chosen deliberately, not by mistake. References to “incalculable damage” & “island of strangers” are Trumpian in extreme & offence. Trump demanded other countries kill off DEI & “wokeness”. Starmer has dutifully plunged the knife right in here.
What I am interested in is who wrote the line. I am pretty sure it wasn’t Starmer (and for avoidance of doubt, this is NOT a defence). It will have been written in full knowledge of the traction it would get - the main thing commented on by MSN and twitterati. My guess is McSweeney.
