My son, who is a high school junior, and I have visited at least a dozen colleges so far and I've scanned and studied the pages of dozens more. I'm honestly in awe of the education and opportunities American colleges and universities have to offer.

But the GOP is opposed to critical thinking, an understanding of this country's history, & discussions about oppression & inequality. What becomes clearer to me every day that this shit show continues is that Trump and his loyal minions want a population entirely at the mercy of a ruling class.

Look at what they're doing: targeting public education (and even private universities), threatening health care and the minimal safety net in this country, slashing and eliminating help for those in need, stripping away fundamental human rights.

When this administration refuses to spend funding allocated by Congress, WHAT HAPPENS TO IT? Where is it going? They are working toward a future where billionaires have everything and the rest of us can scramble for crumbs.

Send him to Canada. I just saw a mother who lives in a red state and helped her daughter move to Toronto. These people get away with it because MAGA doesn't understand the meaning of irony or hypocrisy.

💙 We're looking at a few Canadian universities. Some, like McGill, are just too huge for him. But we're definitely considering a few. 😊 He's a really good kid—very funny and kind.

If you're looking in the east, have you considered Mount Allison in New Brunswick? I worked with a lot of people from Mount A when I worked in Jasper. My best friend started there and later finished at the U of A after she moved west.
