Yes, that's a word. They could've bought homes on Vancouver Island instead. So I think they can just suck up the loss. I don't feel sorry for them. My former father-in-law was a VP of National Trust (before they merged). They sold their home in Toronto and bought a great place near Victoria.

Their place was Sidney, and it's beautiful. Close to the ferry and half hour from Victoria.
