mind horse / ref horse
USE REFERENCES. 🐎
May 7, 2025 00:13genuinely thought my mind horse was pretty decent til i looked at a ref lmao
Your no-reference attempt is actually really good. You've captured the essence of a horse as your mind retains it and gave it a lot belly, not unlike the ancient cave illustrations from the dawn of man. Reference is important, but relying on memory is a good exercise to indulge occasionally.
thanks! drawing from memory is definitely fun and still good practice. i like to see which things I get right and which i didn't remember
When people say they never need references cuz they understand what they are drawing I giggle. We all need a reminder of what we are drawing sometimes lol.
Mind horse is giving Przewalski’s horse
mind horse is my ancestors horse, passed down for generations
I saw someone a while ago brag about how they learned to draw perfect horses at childhood, then posted the most googly-eyed, swaybacked horse I've ever seen. Some people just do not get that you HAVE to use references.
so true
but what if their childhood horse actually looked like that lol
Honestly, even side by side the mind horse looks decent.
Like, it kinda just looks like a stockier/chunkier pony
I've seen my share of horses. mind horse definitely exists at every riding stable in the US and he lives off the millions of sugar cubes that each girl comes in and gives him.
I wonder what it says about me that my mind horse is just a fat lil pony
