- I’m leaving this up through the end of today because I did a bad job promoting it because of a much needed vacation. Anyways I’ll put out offseason content up against anyone. Season has been over for 18 days & we’ve put out 11 articles. It’s worth the price of admission.
- It’s officially draft szn when @austin716.bsky.social starts to appear again
- Once again the Sabres will be in the market for a top 4 defenseman. Vladislav Gavrikov is arguably the best option remaining that will be available on July 1st. This one is free to everyone:
- The Islanders are making changes to their front office. There’s not a lot on their roster that interests me but there’s 1 forward and 1 defenseman that could make sense for them if they’re made available this summer.
- The Kraken are going through a transition phase again. This time in their front office. They could be open to shaking up their roster. There’s two forwards and a defenseman that I think could interest the Sabres if that’s the case.
- People liked this package last year so it’s back again. I’ll probably keep it live through the end of next week.
- I still think it’s likely the Sabres just change titles and nothing significant from an outside addition occurs in the front office. I did put together a list of GM & advisor options for them in case. One has some times to current FO members.
- The Sabres have historically done their UFA work in the second or third tier of unrestricted free agency under Adams. Anthony Mantha could be worth a gamble on a low salary contract but the injury concerns may be too much to overlook.

- Make sure you get your vote in for the final. Ends tonight.
- Elliotte Friedman had some interesting comments today about a potential front office shakeup. Adams likely remains in the organization but other roles could change. I go over the “promotion” plan I heard about last year & other guesses on changes.
- Sabres make it official. Jiri Kulich has been assigned to the Amerks along with Noah Ostlund, Tyson Kozak, and Isak Rosen.

- I put way too much time into this probably. I went through like 10 different ideas and landed here for mock offseason 1.0 for the Sabres. They probably won’t do all of this but it was fun to consider.
- We have our Sabres playoff drought bracket final. Nostalgic moment vs recency bias. Lucic hit on Miller vs Palm Tree press conference Voting will begin tomorrow.
- The Penguins want to get younger and the Sabres want to get older. It seems like these two teams could be good trade partners in the summer. I discussed a few trade options from the Penguins roster. This one is free to all.

- The way Ruff sounded this morning about Power confirmed some things I heard last night & this morning. I don’t share exact details as a personal philosophy. He had an MRI yesterday as planned & there’s a concern the injury could be significant enough to push into next season.

- Sabres announce G Scott Ratzlaff has joined the Amerks with his WHL season now over
- The Sabres are missing the playoffs for the 14th year in a row. Sometimes it feels like whack-a-mole trying to explain what went wrong year over year. This time it’s the things that have hurt them for a few years in a row.

- Voting for the Elite 8 in the drought bracket ends tonight at midnight
- Final Game Charts - Sabres were the better team for most of the game but that doesn't always mean you win - Zucker a lot of shot attempts tonight - Dahlin was excellent per usual - I wouldn't mind Ostlund getting one game with Zucker and Tuch.

- There are a handful of things that went wrong with the Sabres that we'll dive into but all of the issues do start at the top and trickle down. Full episode: linktr.ee/expectedbuffalo
- Final Game Charts - After the first period it was all Sabres - 9/20/72 is a problem for the league - Ostlund line only allowed one shot attempt against all game - Nice for Luukkonen to get a W on the board.
- Before puck drop…the Sabres drought bracket Sweet 16 voting is now live
- Ovi owns the day with setting the record but we have a huge matchup tonight in Buffalo. Bruins in town. It's a potential elimination night for the Sabres. If they lose in regulation AND the Habs beat the Predators they'll officially miss for the 14th year in a row.
- Last reminder today is the final day for current subscribers to take advantage of our 5 year anniversary promo. If you’re a current annual subscriber you can add another year for 50% off. Monthly can move to annual for the same. Just DM me or email expectedbuf@gmail.com.
- The Bolts are in town tonight. Noah Ostlund will make his Sabres debut tonight as well. The magic number elimination for the Sabres is 6. It can drop to 2 tonight if the Sabres lose and the Habs beat the Flyers.
- The season isn't over yet, but we have some big offseason plans. So I figured I'd get a head start. Nick Perbix is our first free agent profile and is an option to improve the bottom of their defense group on the premise they'll overhaul it.
- The Sabres playoff drought bracket Sweet 16 is set. We lost two top seeds and one #2 seed last round. A few Cinderella high seeds making a run.
- Final Game Charts - Ottawa ahead in shot share and quality but not on the scoreboard - Period by period charts are not broken. Just didn't collect the data tonight - Reimer was excellent once again
- Sabres wrap up the season series with the Senators tonight as they go for the sweep. The Sabres are arguably the best finishing team (at 5v5) in the league this season. Then there's the goaltending...
- Reminder today is the last day for round 2 voting in the Sabres drought bracket. A few close battles and a 1 seed is in danger.
- Offseason content is going to begin this week (I took off the name of the first guy)
