- Guess where I learned my first sea shanty? Working on a tall ship. OMG. There is no experience like hauling in unison and singing a work song with a couple of dozen other people. Also you have not known fear until you've been on a tall ship in a storm, with the ocean trying to kill you.

- A little tutorial on what I call "linear palettes." Getting a handle on color is one of the biggest challenges for most artists. This is a way to simplify color and create harmonies without losing control. Mostly a learning tool, but something I apply in my work too. #tutorial #art #unicorn

- With color I've found for most artist step one is making it not suck. Just getting a handle on it. Once you get that you can start using it to say what you want. Some artists can go right to step B, but most, I think, can't and so they never feel good about their color use.

- Members of my family are not safe traveling out of our state, so some of us over here are in this with you. I'm the most pessimistic person there is, yet I believe better days are ahead. There are just certain things about our political structure that create vulnerability to this kind of thing.
