So in household news, it turns out that Chris is lactose intolerant in addition to (and probably as a result of) being coeliac. A Chris 1980 model is very expensive to run! Thankfully he has kind of embraced it and thrown himself into cooking with borderline alarming enthusiasm.

He practically is vegan apart from the eggs at the moment. We're still working out what he can and can't eat. I fear there might be some messy experiments...

Are these things that can get better, or will his guts hate him long term?

The lactose intolerance is caused by being undiagnosed coeliac for so long, so it's permanent damage. Also puts him at high risk of bowel cancer :(

I've told him to go doctors at the first sign of any bodily weirding. He's also genetically at high risk of early onset prostate cancer, so that's fun... :S
