- Another development in the story we first published in August 2024. Former Infrastructure minister Peter Guthrie alleges Danielle Smith's husband attempted to meet with him for a rail project Ousted UCP MLA Accuses Premier's Husband of Secret Lobbying via @thetyee.ca thetyee.ca/News/2025/05...
- It hasn't sold. It has been on the market for over 400 days. Now priced for "quick sale." canada.businessesforsale.com/canadian/est...
- In QP - “My husband owns a restaurant”. Umm, he does? www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...
- I FOIPed the premier's calendar. It was in there. Her office arranged the meeting.
- @charlesrusnell.bsky.social obtained internal documents that show Smith’s husband attended an hour-long confidential government meeting at McDougall Centre on Sept. 26, 2023 (link in thread). The Premier admits her husband is not a lobbyist. And yet she calls Guthrie’s question baseless. 🤦🏼
- This is an explosive allegation aimed squarely at the premier and her spouse. Never quite seen anything like this in Question Period. www.facebook.com/share/v/1EXo...
- Savage but true and fair.
- Looks like Parker and Marco Van Huigenbos are not paying their fines. Several more like this on the Elections Alberta website. Van Huigenbos' prison sentence from his Coutts blockade conviction at least until his appeal is heard in January.
- Trouble ahead for the UCP government. Eight locals of Alberta's largest public sector union votes 90.1 % for a strike with 80% of members voting. They're motivated.
- The first set of citations against Rath are to be heard on Jan. 13, 2026. They're serious. So are the second set, which have yet to be scheduled.
- FFS “Rath is facing seven citations for alleged unprofessional conduct. The citations have not been proven and a disciplinary hearing has not been scheduled.” edmontonjournal.com/news/politic...
- Important thread. Alberta's premier is taking the province down a dark path. 👇
- Michael Ignatieff once warned: democracy dies when we treat adversaries as enemies. On May 5, Premier Danielle Smith gave Albertans a speech that leaned heavily into that danger. A 🧵 on factionalism and democratic decline. www.nytimes.com/2013/10/17/o...
