Speciality Dragonscale Crochet 🐉 & terrible puns
- (Forgot to post this, what a great start to the month 🤦🏼♀️) 1st of #AmiguruMay 2025 so I'm starting with a throwback to the new year White Rabbit
-
View full threadNearly forgot today's #AmiguruMay! Day 12 is a pirate!
- And I did forget yesterday's so here's a collection of owlets. The very first amigurumi I made back in 2015 #AmiguruMay day 14
- Aww, that's cute!
- Thank you The lady who commissioned him for a gift liked him so much she had another one made for herself 💖
- Day 10 #AmiguruMay An ice cream is fitting for a beautiful day like this
- #AmiguruMay Day 11 is where my love of K-dramas meets crochet. Son Yuk Gong is from A Korean Odyssey. Pattern by My ARTpetite
- Time to start the #Garden2025 posts 🌱 My Hellebore is flowering its little heart out and it's time to chit the seed potatoes as they're already starting to sprout. Pentland Javelin, 1st early Charlotte, salad Desiree, main crop

- Headed into the front garden while it was in shade. Got almost all the way around before it got too hot. Even #JamieCat moved to find the last bit of shadow
- Day 8 #AmiguruMay 🧶 and as the bees are buzzing I thought I'd show off one I made a few years ago
- #AmiguruMay Day 9 is a red dragon from about 10 years ago
- Day 6 (crocheters can't count) we have Tanner the Triceratops Pattern by Nicole Chase #AmiguruMay 🧶
- #AmiguruMay 7 just in time Time for some pumpkins. Such an easy make
- Couldn't be anyone else for #MayThe4th #AmiguruMay 🧶
- Day 6 and it's Moogle Time for #AmiguruMay 🧶 My friend wanted a Moogle Queen costume so I made her 25 in a variety of sizes and colours This was a one off project 😵💫
- #AmiguruMay Day 2 brings a pair of simple robins The joy of amigurumi (like crochet) is you can start with something simple and then move to more complex. It's all about the double crochet.
- Day 3 #AmiguruMay falls on a Saturday so I was teaching crochet at The Wool Haven. Yesterday's post showed 2 sizes of robin from variations in a pattern, today's elephants vary in size due to yarn weight and hook size. 🧶
- I had TWO of those types of greenhouses! They are very prone to wind damage! Get yourself some clear gorilla tape and reinforce it!
- This is our second, the last one held together for 5 years before the bottom supports rusted away. We have this one tied to the fence as the other one would walk in high winds 😂
- Some of my back patio flowers today, doing their thing 💝 #flowers #blueskygardens #containergarden #patiogarden #resist #beautyasresistance #beautiful #colors #blooms #flowersofbluesky #gardensofbluesky
- Those are lovely
- Work continues in the garden. Almost all my seed potatoes in. The bags aren't pretty but they stopped the wireworm last year. L2R Desiree, Charlotte & Pentland Javelin And a spontaneous purchase of a kiwi potted up and added to our mini orchard #Garden2025
- A later start than I'd hoped for today thanks to the rain (but at least I won't need to water tonight) We got more compost for the potatoes so there's now 22 each snuggled up in its own bag. The extra compost was used to pot up the tomatoes and cucumber. #Garden2025 🌱
- So lovely 😍
- What do you mean I can't come in? That just washed floor is perfect for muddy paws
- Unbound did precisely fuck-all PR for my book when it came out, despite promises. Didn't even send copies to the obvious people. It was a Brexit satire. Easiest sell on earth at the time. I wouldn't piss on Archna Sharma and John Mitchinson if they were on fire. Avoid their revived Boundless brand.
- It's a great book. Best thing to come out of Brexit
- It’s so hard to constantly battle grass! I hear couch grass is a real nightmare. In Cali it was crab grass. That’s a lot of work! May you have a plentiful harvest.
- Thank you so much. We've only a little patch but it's a nice treat to eat home grown.
- No chance of gardening last week but we made up for it this afternoon. 1 pallet bed moved and another 2 made. Ran out of time / energy to complete filling the largest one but that's tomorrow afternoon's project 🌱
- Today I had time to tackle the couch grass as I'm losing the battle in 2 areas; raspberries & 1/4 circle bed. 🌱 Raspberries first. I lifted the plants, kept 7 & washed roots before potting in some old planters Mulched with leaf mould 😍 Covered area in cardboard & pots on top. #Garden2025
- Hurry up Mum it's lunch time #JamieCat
- Our spring has come at last with the soft laughter of April suns and shadow of April showers Bryan Caldwell Smith #MonthlyJournallingQuote
- White Rabbit hopes you all have a lovely February
- White Rabbit hopes everyone a lovely St. David's Day and 1st day of meteorological Spring 🧶
- Good morning White Rabbit wonders if it's time to start hiding Easter eggs around the house 🧶
- Check pallet for stamps/markings to ensure not chemically treated, fyi (I made that mistake once, had to discard)
- Thanks for that. Haven't seen anything on them
- 140 paper mache eggs for April's craft classes 😵💫 #SeniorCrafting #CareHomeCrafts
- Time to start preparing for April's classes. 140 eggs in 4 sizes: 3, 4, 5 & 6 cms. All have had a coat of gesso, I'll check tomorrow for any missed spots and then bag 10 for each of the 14 classes. They'll be decorated with marker pens and stick on crystal tiles #MHHSBD
- Sunday afternoon preparing for March's craft classes. Time for a Spring theme 1st project is pompom sheep and the 2nd basket making #SeniorCrafting #CareHomeCrafts
-
View full threadA few more sheep from this month's classes. We'll definitely be making pompoms again, the residents have loved them. I learnt today that the bottle tops from school milk was originally card with a hole for the straw, making them ideal for pompoms #SeniorCrafting #CareHomeCrafts
- Finishing off this month with a few pics of our Easter baskets These were incredibly popular, I had to order more kits! #MHHSBD
- This is what I have on my crochet hook 🧶 It’s nice to relax and create something colourful #yarn #fibreart #MakersmARTch #mkrsmartch #MHHSBD #multicoloured #crochet #art #hook dwcrochetpatterns.etsy.com
- Very nice
- #WednesdayWIP Part of my stash busting is facing "The doomed bag of WIPs" I frogged a part made project. Apart from it being German I can't remember what it was and the ball band is long gone. I decided to use the yarn to make wristwarmers in the way I did before dragonscale. I think this works
- Those look really cute! This is why I prefer crochet over knitting: it's a LOT easier to frog & reuse yarn.
- Thank you. And yes it is
- Where's #JamieCat? In my box of craft kits
- 2025 book thread!
-
View full thread13) Terry Pratchett - Night Watch My first Discworld novel in over 15 years, I think. I've always been intimidated by the series size but it's this month's read for my book club. Funny and fiercely human, but I felt out of my depth a lot, so I might pick up some more DW for context.
- That's my favourite Pratchett book
- He begrudged every spoonful I ate #JamieCat
- A delayed picture of my 1st crocus of the year, taken Wednesday morning as I left the house And my first 2 tomato seedlings through, down last Sunday #Garden2025
- Yesterday my husband built a raised bed stacking our 4 smallest pallet beds. So today I filled it with cardboard, 2 bags of last year's hedge cuttings, home compost & their original filling. I expect it to drop but any excess will go to the next bed #Garden2025
- What a great day. Another set of beginner crocheters flown out the nest. Then The Craft Fair at the SEC, we brought home cheese, cake 😁 & contact details. Then a Korean (ish) Odyssey to iMart Oriental for rice cakes, makgeolli & mochi finishing with a late lunch at Silla 😋 #Glasgow
- Time to show you some of this week's makes The pompom sheep have had a great response in the care homes. 🧶 Even those that couldn't join in the making enjoyed the texture of the hanks of yarn and fluffiness of the finished sheep #CareHomeCrafts #SeniorCrafting #MHHSBD #CraftBizParty
- A much needed boost with this dropping through the letter box this morning. I thought I'd read a few pages, already at 89. Nice work @smicht.bsky.social
- #WednesdayWIP Taking a break from the stash busting this week. 🧶 I'd promised my crochet class I'd get this bag pattern written up for them. But as I gave my first attempt to my mum I need to make a second to check the size 😁
- Nice!!!!🧶
- Thank you
- Well that's new #JamieCat
