I feel that you're presenting the bird's eye view of a long-running commentary about Superman stories and I'm reacting to this specific trailer wherein Superman is defensive moment one and the trailer crescendos with him yelling at the woman he loves. So, this specific characterization is my focus.
I think the Cavill Superman had the edge of arrogance that Corenswet's is written as having in this one (at least in the trailer), but he comes off as far less confident and I think I'm just not keen to see Guardians of the Superman with Suicide Squad action -- but, could be good! Gunn is good!
