1. I am 18 years sober today. It's a beautiful day here in Northern Ireland, so to celebrate, I'm going to take a long walk and feel the Spring sun on my face. Sobriety, for me, is rooted in gratitude for simple joys. Why?
Apr 8, 2025 07:012. Because if I hadn't quit drinking when I did, I would have died a long time ago. Every day I wake up is a gift born of that decision, the most important decision I have ever made. It is likely that many of you are struggling with alcohol.
3. If you are, I implore you from the bottom of my heart to seek help - your doctor, an addiction specialist, AA, or any other organisation dedicated to helping people stop drinking. My DMs are always open, in the strictest confidence, to any of you who wish to talk.

Congrats on your time. You share something in common w the founder of AA in Ireland. His name was Conor F., an Irishman who owned a bar in Philadelphia, PA who went back to Ireland to carry the AA message there.
I didn't know that! And my middle name is Francis, so I'm also a Conor F!
My 86-year-old drug-addicted roommate has been destroying our home. He's on his way to try and get more drugs now. He's aggressive and abusive when he's high. He'll be leaving soon, either in handcuffs or on a stretcher after he od's or face plants on the floor again. I'm so tired of this shit.
I am so sorry to hear this, Reesh.
I am a total stranger. And I am proud of you.
And I truly appreciate it!
