I think it's unfortunate that “it’s easier to break things than to build them" has become a tagline of the second resistance. It may be technically true, to some degree, in some cases. But it's often overstated, demoralizing, and concedes too much to the vandals.

May 13, 2025 16:27I agree, though it's useful as a response to doomer/utopians who ask, "well if the GOP can just destroy [x], why haven't the Democrats successfully done [y thing that requires tremendous planning and coordination]?"
We should also say that while it's easy to break stuff, it's often still fixable.
