- This shot was taken with an 85mm lens at f/2 using single focus mode (AF-S) and the focus-recompose technique—perfect for that creamy background and tack-sharp eyes. Captured during a fun model shootout weekend with photographers, models, and makeup artists all collaborating. What do you think?

- Focus-recompose is a technique where you first focus on your subject—often the eyes—using a single focus point, then slightly move or recompose your camera to improve the framing without refocusing. It’s great for getting tack-sharp focus while keeping creative control over your composition
- Great question, Robert! Yes, focus-recompose is pretty much focus-lock and reframe. I use AF-S to lock focus on the eyes, then shift the composition to get the frame I want. Super useful with fast lenses like the 85mm f/2. ☺️

- Thanks so much, Emma! That means a lot—especially coming from someone who loves wildlife photography. Always fun to step out of our usual genre and try something new. 😊

- Tawny-capped Euphonia at @tapirvalley.bsky.social #CostaRica I only see these a few times a year, as they're one of the less common birds there. #birds #nature
- Wow, such a vibrant little gem! Must be a thrill spotting one of these rare beauties.
- Oh, so dramatic! 😂 When the rain is very heavy, the Fiery-throated Hummingbirds can't fly, so they land on a branch or the walkway and shake and shimmy and contort themselves, trying to dry out. It's a little upsetting the first time you observe this behavior, but they're fine. #hummingbirds #bird
