- The PBR slashes science funding by >50%, putting my career and our future STEM workforce under threat of being demolished. @fetterman.senate.gov @repdwightevans.bsky.social @davemccormick.bsky.social What will you do to support science & constituents in your state? #WeekOfAction #SaveScience
- I said my main goal of this trip was to meet with Kilmar. Tonight I had that chance. I have called his wife, Jennifer, to pass along his message of love. I look forward to providing a full update upon my return.
- THANK YOU
- I spent the day on the Hill speaking with various offices about the critical importance of funding fundamental research in science. I am incredibly inspired by the others in my team who spoke incisively and with passion. You can do this too: go to your Rep or senator website and request a meeting!

- Lights, camera, action! The world's largest digital camera has been installed at NSF–DOE Rubin Observatory! 🤩 The LSST Camera was the final major component of the observatory. With it in place, Rubin officially enters its final phase of testing!🔭 🔗: rubinobservatory.org/news/lsst-camera-installed

- Hey #veilguard nerds - I've updated my headshot to show that I am in the "hardened" state 🙃 Given current US climate....
- Read this whole thread.
- The NSF MPS Ascend Postdoctoral Fellowship has been archived: new.nsf.gov/funding/oppo... All folks who applied to this opportunity have had their application package deleted.
- The Ascend fellowship enabled me to pursue a 3-year innovative, independent research program through which I mentored several undergraduates (who themselves stayed in STEM). It is very likely a large reason I managed to stay in astrophysics, let alone find a job as faculty.
- I was qualified to receive the fellowship AND I am a woman of color. What a crazy concept that a program can do two things at once: be for a specific target population and maintain a high standard of excellence.

- And it's not even a public institution...
- Hello hello! I have finally wandered onto this forum from the abyss! I am a professor of physics with research in time domain astronomy & chaos. I enjoy rockclimbing, all the dogs, and I'm a musician (classical voice)! My alter ego has an account for the wheel of time fantasy series ;-)
