No, they should do what they think is best to legislatively to fight back against Trump/MAGA, because they have the experience to know what works and what doesn't. And everyone on here with a rage-boner for Dems b/c they aren't actively leading a military coup need to realize they aren't helping.
Fight back how. They don't have votes in the house for legislation *either*. I guess they could write some strongly worded letters, or they could highlight Donald Trump's corruption, tho I think impeachment does anything those would do but louder and more persuasively
And let's be clear here: impeachment resolutions doesn't stop them doing other things. It just correctly highlights that the problem is Trump, it won't stop until he leaves office, and that this is what the country should do about him.
It would not have passed. All it would have done is create problems for Dems in Trump districts, of whom there are several, without accomplishing anything.

It's lose-lose for them. If they vote yes in a district where Trump is popular, they look partisan. If they vote no they annoy Bluesky types who ARE very partisan. Better to not have to go on the record for what is a doomed exercise. The leadership is shielding them.
The previous two impeachments were also doomed exercises. There’s very few swing districts where Trump is popular at this moment. A third impeachment may not carry much benefit but I also doubt it’s all that risky. Being anti-Trump in 2018 led to a wave 2018 midterm election victory.
Trump was not impeached before the 2018 election.
I didn’t say he was. Being anti-Trump is what led to that wave election. You don’t need to be scared of being anti-Trump. He’s unpopular and he’s a lame duck.
Midterm elections normally go against the President. No one says not to criticize Trump, but an impeachment resolution doesn't pass, doesn't remove him, doesn't make him less popular or do anything except put some in a tough spot and pander to Bluesky who think their feelings are what matter.
Yeah, I don’t care if they do or don’t but you shouldn’t make decisions based on Bluesky popularity. You don’t like impeachment and that’s fine but no one has to believe the impeachment is a trap rhetoric from people who have failed over and over politically and kept their jobs.
How have they "failed over and over"? When they had a majority they enacted good policies. They win about half the elections, which is to be expected in a two-party system. If Trump could be convicted and removed, I'd be for it, but it's not a realistic scenario.
