AfD isn’t even close to the most popular party in Germany. It has 47k members, compared to SPD’s 366k membership.
But the bigger problem is that the VP is promoting a neo-Nazi party in a foreign country.
Not only is he going out of his way to strengthen the European far right, that claim about the Berlin Wall is beyond absurd.
This is a broad strategic alignment away from the liberal democracies toward the global right.
Vance is a menace and liar. But I wouldn't use party membership as a measure of popularity. The AfD really did get millions more votes than the SPD, something that wouldn't have been imaginable not long ago.
