my mom read novels out loud to me until i moved away for college—idk how common that is, but it is one of my v fav childhood memories 🥰

I loved reading books to my kids that I loved as a kid, like the Hall Family Chronicles by Jane Langton, The Borrowers (and sequels) by Mary Norton, a lot of Roald Dahl books, the Little House books, The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster, The Witch Family by Eleanor Estes, Wind in the Willows, etc.
