Because it’s only Star Wars on a surface level. It’s a very human (and therefore more real) story. But the Empire is xenophobic against non-humans. By focusing entirely on humans, and using non-humans only as window dressing, it removes the fantasy element.

May 10, 2025 14:48I think it was the 2nd episode when my wife said she's not watching anymore because there aren't aliens and interesting cultures, just war stuff. It wasn't something I considered since I was so wrapped up in it.
Same. I’m all in, but it’s the first SW thing my wife and kids aren’t interested in.
