Well, I've moved my first client Statamic site off of Laravel Cloud and onto Forge.
Takeaways:
1. I still am very green to Statamic and probably the main issue.
2. No obvious way to migrate assets from local to LC's S3
3. Statamic to eloquent import on LC Postgres was brittle
Apr 15, 2025 18:034. LC absolutely slaps for traditional Laravel apps, but because I started the project in regular flat files & local media assets, migration was less than smooth.
5. Forge even has a Statamic option for creating a site, but only for new sites using a starter.
6. LC's S3 creds did not allow write 🤔
Overall, Laravel Cloud is really great. And I intend to use it on any non-Statamic builds (at least for now). My issues weren't really the fault of either LC or Statamic on their own, but more around my lack of knowledge.
As usual, Forge is the reliable workhorse.
