Soviet Union also did NOT liberate Europe in 1945, they invaded eastern Europe and installed a terror regime for centuries. They only fought Nazi Germany as they got betrayed from their former ALLIED and wanted revenge, next to this they wanted to finish their original plan with occupation.

I seem to remember that the Russian soldiers that entered Berlin in the concluding days of WW2 were not above looting, raping and summary executions. I really don’t think much has changed.
