- NEW from me: RFK Jr. made it clear at a press conference that he'd promote "environmental factors" (read: vaccines) as a cause of autism, and trotted out a new phrase, "epidemic denial," to label people who disagree with his interpretation of data. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

- As I wrote in the piece, Kennedy continues to use stigmatizing and frankly pretty shocking language to refer to people with autism, implicitly framing them as a burden on society and their families who will, as he said, "never pay taxes" or "write a poem."
- Plenty of people with autism do both of those things, neither of which are sole determining factors for whether someone can live a fulfilling life, and some autistic self-advocates have said for quite a long time that they find Kennedy's language demeaning. autisticadvocacy.org/2025/04/trum...
- I don't even know how to process the seeming fact that there are people like RFK Jr. out there who are so entirely hopped-up on their own importance and "genius" that they are willing to hurt huge numbers of people to prop themselves up. Utterly depraved and loathsome.
- Thanks, no. I'll be consulting my doctor on all things medical, not yet another carnival barking, science denying charlatan. Trump sure cornered the market on these people.
