- My approach to dealing with ChatGPT in students' written work is pretty straightforward: 1. It's plagiarism. 2. Plagiarism is poison. 3. It doesn't even make your writing good. 4. I will catch you if you do it. 5. I will flunk you if I catch you.

- Lipton is looking at this through the wrong end of the telescope. A student who brings me a fancy gift on the day of the final may or may not be engaging in a corrupt act. But if I ACCEPT that present, whether I change their grade or not, my acceptance of the gift is corrupt.

- It's legitimately baffling to me that Alexa devices aren't more user friendly. We've set them up at my folks' place to provide support to my dad when he's up there by himself, and it's just so goddamned hard to get them to do anything, or to figure out what they can do.

- What's wild about this—from the Times editorial board no less—is that the supposed "right" to voice noxious opinions in public without being shunned is stronger by far than it was a few decades ago, and to our obvious detriment.
