- People sometimes assumed that because of my hard stance on GenAI, that I must also hate the tech, but I don't . In fact, I think that there is a place for AI in creative work. The issue for me is regulation. If we are going to trample over copyright laws instead of revise them, I am not interest.
- GenAI is just the slop they feed the masses. Because masses are always like " oooohhh shiny tech thing, gimmi". But remember, the internet was first conceived as a way for the US military to be able to link computers together in a network. Trust me, more powerful AI exist out there today.
- Meta's idea of the web is designed around having AI personas along side humans. Which, fine. If some of you want to have your robo gfs, cool. But the problem is propagation. AI can populate virtual spaces faster than humans can. Organically, the web becomes less for humans and more for AI agents.
- Do you know how bad it is to try to find a proper 1984 T-800 endoskeleton references in today's net? I think Gen AI killed the web. Which is a big problem because a lot of our lives actually happen online.
- We should form a Luddite Party here in Canada. Just saying, that would be a phenomenal political movement.
- I think a Luddite tattoo would be dope af. I don’t have the cash flow to swing that right now, but I hope the idea inspires someone else to do it.
- Given our current word wide situation, can we not rule out the possibility that we might be getting invaded by body snatchers?
- My wild conspiracy theory is that the fentanyl cartels have been supporting Trump since early on in his campaign. Trump talks a lot about fighting fentanyl, but nothing of impact is actually being done. I think the consumption of fentanyl in the states is probably going to rise.
- You know, this is going to lead into a sitch in which we are going to get a 9/11 level catastrophe, and because no one is going to know wtf is happening, due to the lack of staff and the massive disinformation problem we have, it’s just going to feed the “dangerous criminals” discourse even more.
- How does one get a job at @wired.com as a contract illustrator? Legit question. Because I would love to do that, and I think my art fits well with their brand.
