- It's Trilobite Tuesday! Hailing from the Asery Horizon quarries is this 2.1-in- (5.1-cm-) long trilobite of the genus Achatella. First recognized from specimens discovered during 19th century explorations in Great Britain, these Ordovician trilobites are also known from Paleozoic deposits in the US.
- Meet the thin-spined porcupine! This nocturnal rodent, also known as the bristle-spined rat, is found only in parts of northern and central Brazil. Unlike many other porcupines, this one's quills are more like bristles than spines! Photo: ultimosrefugios, CC BY-NC 4.0, iNautralist
