it actually exists, unlike Jai, so it has that going for it at least
i think Odin succeeds at the design goal of a simple, dumb language that anybody can pick up much more than Go does. it's not anything revolutionary, but it was just a nice, readable, consistent language.
fwiw i do love programming in it
maybe this comes from how much i use rust, but odin feels like a poorly thought-out reaction to complexity. elements of its design are haphazard and incongruous; it feels like it exists to say something rather than to be used
