- Smuggled @janicehallett.bsky.social into my suitcase for Egypt, and she's nailed it once again. Gripping, whip-smart and compelling as ever, and made me snort-laugh at least once a page. Out in September, totally essential. @viperbooks.bsky.social @mirandajewess.bsky.social
- Halfway through my first holiday read, and it's an absolute banger. Genuinely don't know which way it's going to go - it's brilliantly written, with a peach of a main character, and a delicious sense of dread. And it's set in Egypt! And I'm in Egypt! Stellar work @chrisbolland.bsky.social
- There's no better post than @janicehallett.bsky.social book post. Thanks @mirandajewess.bsky.social
- Great to see @TariqAshkanani forthcoming banger getting well deserved love in The Guardian today, it's a must buy... @viperbooks.bsky.social @mirandajewess.bsky.social www.theguardian.com/books/2025/m... Crime and thrillers of the month
- Absolutely loved Black Bag. Super smart, brilliant writing and direction, and a hall of fame cast. See it in the cinema damn you all
- Can't wait for @beyondthebook.bsky.social in May, appearing with these writing ninjas and shooting the speculative shit about world building. Brighton's always a joy too, come and hang out...
- Chuffed to bits to see Dark Century included in @thebookseller.com’s Agent Hotlist for The London Book Fair 2025! Many thanks to my agent @jjbker.bsky.social ker.bsky.social at @belllomaxmoreton.bsky.social oreton.bsky.social for making this happen.

- On my way to @StockportNoir - get down there tomorrow and bathe in all the crime (books)
- Was lucky enough to get an early read of @goodhand_james next novel, Reports Of His Death Have Been Greatly Exaggerated and it's truly, truly special. One of the best things I've read in a long time. Out in July.
- Not a massive Dylan fan, but A Complete Unknown is transfused with precious, rare, transportitive movie magic, and I loved every second of it. Should be seen on the biggest screen possible with an ear-blasting sound system.
- That Brutalist run time, eh? You could almost say it's...brutal! Ha! Haaaa! (Probably loads of jokes in it almost as good as that so sure it'll fly by)
- Saw Nosferatu this week. It's a work of art visually, just an impeccably made film. It's also quite funny, which I wasn't expecting. I'm also not sure it's intended, because no-one else was laughing. Defoe chews the scenery beautifully. Melodrama off the charts. See it!
- Very exciting book post today - loved Book of Doors, @garethjohnbrown.bsky.social second is sure to be a cast-iron winner...
- @guymorpuss.bsky.social has been keeping me company this Christmas (the poor bastard) and we've been having a hell of a time. His next book is an absolute banger - a riveting court thriller which kept me guessing till the end. Expertly crafted. Get it pre-ordered for March '25.
- Absolutely loved #CarryOn on @netflix - a proper old school thriller that delivered right to the end. Reminded me of Die Hard and Collateral in the best possible way. Bravo @tjfixman.bsky.social
- Watching Home Alone 2, wondering for the thousandth time why they wouldn't have the climatic get-the- baddies bit in the toy store when they literally spent the whole film setting it up.
- Identified with so much of this, it felt like it had been written for me personally. Another fantastic article from Cole. (Rewatched the film this week and it's endlessly fascinating. Breaks rules aplenty and feels crazily fresh because of it.)
- One of my favourite books of the year, almost illegally cheap. Get on it!

- Hardback or bust for me, baby. Hope life's good with you guys, and happy Christmas!
- @janicehallett.bsky.social is legit one of the best writers of the last 20 years. Consistently innovative and there's always a beautifully dark, unsettling tone to her stuff. The Examiner is her best yet.
